In 1997 Jerry moved with his family from Champaign, Illinois to Tucson. Jerry’s wife Barbara left behind a thriving decorating business and his daughter Ellie, was just entering the 8th grade. Barbara now uses her talents to create crafts and participates i n many local craft shows. Ellie is in Graduate School at Northern Arizona University. She will be receiving her Masters Degree in Chemistry in May 2008. After living their entire lives in Illinois, the Heintzes were tired of the cold snowy winters and hot humid summers. As hard as it was to leave family members and the campus of his Alma Mater, The University of Illinois, Jerry, Barb and Ellie made the decision to relocate to a much better climate. The Heintzes now feel like Tucson natives and love it here. When they moved to Tucson they purchased the Centre Café located in the Williams Centre office building on Broadway. While he always enjoyed the food service industry, Jerry really had a passion for the financial part of the business as well as the marketing sector. When the opportunity came to make a career change Jerry jumped at the chance to join Charter Funding. In his new position as a Mortgage Advisor he was able to take advantage of the talents and abilities he had been developing his entire working career. Jerry was able to combine his financial background, customer service know how and marketing skills into a successful new career in the mortgage industry.

As his business grew and he continued to learn and develop new skills he found a love for being a Strategic Mortgage Planner. Jerry says, “I noticed that very few lenders in the industry actually paid any attention to a borrower’s total financial picture and could help them improve their current situation by using their mortgage as a financial tool.” Because your home is the usually the largest asset on your balance sheet, and the associated mortgage is the largest debt anyone undertakes, it’s important to develop a long term plan. Jerry developed the skills to integrate a client’s mortgage into their short term and long term financial plan to make sure they were on track to reach all their financial goals. Traditional mortgages are not always the best way to finance your home. The best mortgage will be safe, secure, provide beneficial tax deductions and give you the opportunity to pay off your loan early if you so desire.

It was though Equity Mortgage Planning that he met Tom Greenwell and they began working together to build wealth and tax favored retirement for their clients. Once again an opportunity presented itself to partner with Tom in the insurance planning business where they continue to offer competitive plans to insure their client’s future financial success. It was a natural fit with Jerry’s mortgage background to become a part of the Strategic Planning Insurance Group. Jerry is excited to bring his mortgage and business expertise into the dynamic and cutting edge business that Strategic Planning has become.
